An exciting opportunity is available for a Food Technology Teacher to join a prestigious, "Outstanding" independent school in Richmond. In this role, you will inspire students to develop a sophisticated understanding of food preparation, the science of ingredients, and the importance of a healthy, sustainable diet. You will have the opportunity to teach a broad curriculum, from fundamental culinary skills at KS3 to advanced Food Preparation and Nutrition at GCSE and potentially specialized Level 3 qualifications. You will contribute to a dynamic department that values innovation, supporting curriculum development and delivering practical lessons that challenge students to experiment with flavors, techniques, and global cuisines. Person Specification Qualified Food Technology Teacher (QTS or equivalent) with a degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or a related field Proven experience teaching Food Technology/Nutrition at GCSE (A-Level or vocational experience is also desirable) Excellent culinary skills and a genuine passion for food education In-depth knowledge of Health & Safety and food hygiene regulations (Level 2/3 Food Safety certificate preferred) Ability to inspire, challenge, and engage students with both the practical and theoretical aspects of the subject Commitment to contributing to the wider school community, including bake-offs, catering for school events, or healthy eating initiatives About the School This "Outstanding" independent school in Richmond is a well-established and highly respected institution, educating approximately 600–900 pupils aged 11–18.
