About the Role
Are you patient, empathetic, and passionate about supporting young people with complex learning needs? A specialist academy in Walsall is seeking dedicated Student Support Workers to help provide exceptional care, education, and life opportunities for students aged 11-19 with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC), and Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

As a Student Support Worker, you will support students in engaging with learning, developing communication and life skills, and experiencing success through tailored, sensory-based approaches. Responsibilities
* Providing 1:1 or small group support to students with complex needs.
* Assisting with communication, personal care, physical needs, and sensory integration.
* Adapting learning resources and activities to meet individual needs.
* Collaborating with teaching staff, therapists, and families to support holistic development.
* Using strategies to promote emotional regulation, independence, and confidence.
Candidate Requirements
* Experience working with young people with SLD, ASC, or PMLD, or relevant background in care, support, or SEN education.
* A calm, caring, and adaptable approach.
* Understanding of non-verbal communication, sensory needs, and structured routines.
* Willingness to support with personal care and physical assistance if needed.
* Hold a DBS on the Update Service or be willing to undergo a new check.
