Connex Education is seeking an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to work in a primary school in Swinton, Salford, Manchester. The position is long-term, up to 5 days a week starting from September, with ongoing supply cover and potential for permanence.
About the School:
This large school boasts excellent facilities. All pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan specifying their needs and required resources. Pupils are aged 5-11 years and have various additional needs including PMLD, Autism, SLD, and SEMH. Classes are grouped by age and needs.
Working Hours:
8:30 am to 3:30/4:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
You will support children aged 5-11 with PMLD, Autism, SLD, and SEMH. Previous experience in similar roles is required.
Person Specification:
* Excellent communication skills, empathetic, patient, self-regulated, calm, and positive attitude.
* Knowledge of SEMH issues, strategies, and interventions is beneficial.
* Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs.
* Ability to support children and young people in managing emotions, behavior, and relationships impacting their learning and well-being.
* Good interaction skills with pupils and staff, and ability to work as part of a team.
* Willingness to provide a DBS check through the update service or apply for a new one.
