Role
Biosus Energy Ltd is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager to spearhead our expansion efforts in the Energy as a Service sector. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving business growth, identifying & pursuing new business opportunities forging strategic partnerships, and successfully implementing renewable energy projects, particularly in solar PV, biogas CHP, and BESS installations. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to grow within a fast-evolving sector and progress toward a senior management role as the company expands.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development & Sales Strategy:
* Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies to drive growth in the Energy as a Service sector.
* Identify new market opportunities, assess market trends, and conduct competitor analysis to inform strategic decision-making.
* Forge and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders including clients, suppliers, industry associations, and government bodies.
* Negotiate and close deals in line with company targets and goals.
Client Engagement and Relationship Management:
* Cultivate and nurture relationships with existing and potential clients to understand their energy needs and objectives.
* Lead client meetings, presentations, and negotiations to secure new business opportunities and contracts.
* Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing expert guidance on EaaS solutions and project feasibility.
Project Implementation:
* Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams including engineering, finance, and operations to ensure successful project delivery within budget and timeline constraints.
* Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project success and client satisfaction.
Regulatory Compliance and Permitting:
* Stay abreast of regulatory requirements and permitting processes related to renewable energy projects, ensuring compliance at all stages of project development.
* Liaise with regulatory authorities and local agencies to obtain necessary permits and approvals for project installations.
Market Research and Innovation:
* Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging technologies, trends, and opportunities in the renewable energy sector.
* Drive innovation by exploring new technologies, business models, and value-added services to enhance our EaaS offerings and maintain a competitive edge in the market.
Stakeholder Management:
* Communicating with shareholders, investors, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and support.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
* Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in business development, project management, and/or renewable energy sector.
* Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing business development strategies, driving revenue growth, and exceeding sales targets.
* Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies, particularly solar PV, biogas CHP, and battery energy storage systems.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
* Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
* Knowledge of UK regulatory requirements and permitting processes related to renewable energy projects.
* Passion for sustainability and commitment to driving positive environmental impact through innovative energy solutions.
