Mechanical led Maintenance Engineer
Location: Blackburn
Working Pattern: 4 on 4 off shifts rotating days and nights (6-6)
Salary: Circa £53’000
A specialist manufacturer providing solutions for civil and construction projects, with a focus on performance, reliability and long term value, is searching for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer / Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to support ongoing production and maintenance activity across the UK industrial plant.

The Mechanical Maintenance Engineer role:
You will maintain plant and equipment to ensure safe, reliable operation in line with production and statutory requirements. The role is hands-on, covering fault finding, repair and preventative maintenance across bespoke extrusion and heavy process machinery, within a close-knit team on a rotating shift, supporting both reactive and planned work.
* Responding to breakdowns across mechanical and electrical systems.
* Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and compliance checks.
* Supporting installation work and site improvement projects.
* Lean Six Sigma operation.
* The maintenance approach is increasingly focused on preventative activity.
Mechanical Maintenance Engineer experience:
* Working experience of extrusion lines and polymer handling systems, large motors, pumps and gearboxes, rotating machinery, hydraulics and pneumatics.
* Temperature control systems and associated instrumentation
* Industrial background, comfortable working across a variety of machinery with a practical, methodical approach to fault finding.
* Electrical competence is required, however training can be offered.
* Experience within the plastics industry, or working with extrusion processes, would be useful but not essential.
