Role and Responsibilities
Our client is an established food manufacturer, part of a larger global group. They are looking for a new Maintenance Engineer to join the production and packaging team.
Responsibilities
* Carry out planned, reactive maintenance and safety checks on high-speed food production lines, packaging machinery, conveyors, metal detectors, labellers, baggers, checkweighers, PLCs, control panels, robotics, and depositors
* Electrical and mechanical fault finding, repairs, strip-downs and overhauls
* Work on motors, gearboxes, VSDs, inverters, sensors, pneumatics, hydraulics, drives, bearings
* Improve plant availability, reliability and undertake continuous improvement work
* Monitor contractors on site, order spares and parts
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
* Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer
* Ideally completed a recognised apprenticeship
* HNC / HND in Engineering
* Electrical and mechanical fault finding and problem solving skills
* Experience with industrial processing, equipment and manufacturing systems
* Experience in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment
* Knowledge of electrical safety isolation procedures is beneficial
* Experience with motors, sensors, inverters, gearboxes, VSDs, pneumatics, drives
* Experience using SAP is beneficial
* PLC experience advantageous
* Experience in ATEX / CompEX environments would be advantageous
