RSR are currently recruiting for an experienced ex-police officer to work as a Public Protection Strategic Project Officer on a full-time, long-term contract in Nuneaton, Warwickshire. The role is initially for a 5 month period, with a view to be extended. The role is paying £16.67p per hour (PAYE) The role will be situated within a Police Force, so applicants must be able to obtain national security vetting. Job Purpose: To provide practical support to Chief Inspectors to ensure the creation, development, and completion of various Public Protection plans and inspection responses. Also offering expert knowledge, strategic and tactical insight, and specialist advice in relation to adult and/or child public protection matters, where required. Key Responsibilities: To provide practical support for the development and management of the Domestic Abuse Joint Justice Plan, Op. Soteria implementation plan, HMICFRS Child Protection Inspection, Vulnerability and Public Protection Strategy, and the force AFI plan in relation to the latest HMICFRS PEEL inspection. To provide expert knowledge, strategic and tactical insight and specialist advice when requested from Public Protection senior managers. To analyse and interpret data, audits, and research evidence to ensure an evidence-based approach. To build tactical and operational relationships with other police forces and the College of Policing to identify, assess and utilise best practice and benchmark progress. To work alongside and support other officers and staff in the force who contribute to the plans. Including providing a critical friend and trusted sounding board to the Chief Inspectors; delivering key messages and raising awareness to tactical and operational leads. To monitor and brief on national legislation, future legislative changes, and the relevant political landscape to ensure that the work is relevant both now and in the future. Knowledge: The post holder should have demonstrable knowledge, commensurate to that of at least a Detective Inspector in Public Protection (PIP2) in: The law relevant to criminal offences, investigation, safeguarding and other adult and/or child-related legislation. Understanding adult and/or child safeguarding partnerships and their relevance to this work. Experience: Working for or with policing in a public protection context. Working with statutory and non-statutory partners at a strategic or tactical level in relation to adults and/or children. Understanding, interpreting and applying data and evidence-based research to identify priorities and support solutions. Creating and developing written delivery plans and action trackers at a strategic and tactical level. Developing and managing review processes and feedback loops at a strategic, tactical and operational level.
