Overview
Mitie are recruiting for a Building Services Engineer with a gas engineer bias. This role is working on Central Government and Home Office contracts. The salary on offer will depend on the candidate’s qualifications and experience. Responsibilities
* Carry out maintenance, repairs and planned preventive maintenance (PPMs) in commercial and residential government properties, including fabric, basic electrical and plumbing tasks as required to meet legislative standards.
* Service air conditioning equipment in addition to gas engineering duties.
* Complete appropriate IT and paperwork reports and ensure all statutory and mandatory tasks are completed within required timescales; ensure certification is correctly completed and remedial works are clearly identified.
* Carry out reactive and emergency tasks and use handheld technology effectively to document work.
* Participate in an on-call rota to provide out-of-hours support and assist other team members as directed by a Supervisor or Contract Manager.
* Proactively source additional opportunities or works on sites and provide detailed information for quotes.
Requirements
* Commercial Qualifications: CODNCO1, CCN1, CPA1, TPCP1 & TPCP1A, ICPN1, and appliances CIGA1, CDGA1, CORT1.
* Domestic Qualifications: CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1.
* Experience: Experience in a similar role.
* Skills: Strong understanding of statutory compliance in building services engineering.
* Technical Proficiency: IT literate.
* Driving License: Full driving license.
* F-Gas: Desirable, but training can be provided.
* Enhanced Security Check required.

* Understanding installation designs and troubleshooting procedures; ability to seek manufacturer technical support autonomously is desirable.
* Complete all work-related documentation accurately and on time; keep logs of inspections, reports, and remedial work.
* Full current driving licence and willingness to participate in an on-call rota.
* Ability to perform manual tasks, including manual handling, working at heights and in confined spaces.
* Good verbal and written communication and ability to use a handheld computer device (PDA).
* Self-motivated, solutions-focused, able to work without supervision but also as part of a team.
* Experience in a Maintenance/Facilities Management environment with knowledge of Health & Safety, Permit to Work procedures and safe systems of working.
