Metal Additive Manufacturing Workshop Lead
Quickparts is hiring a Metal Additive Manufacturing Workshop Lead to manage a team of technicians and machinists within our state‑of‑the‑art Metal Additive Manufacturing facility. This is a workshop-based role using technically advanced manufacturing equipment. You will be deeply embedded in our operations, combining manual work with hand and machine tools alongside comprehensive workshop workflow management.
You will own the workshop's daily operations, personally leading CNC machining processes, inspection, and material ordering, while applying a high level of practical engineering skills to drive real results.

* Manage and motivate a team of technicians and machinists
* Setup, operate, and maintain advanced metal 3D Printing and CNC machines
* Drive hands‑on workflow scheduling and quality control
* Serve as the owner of workspace safety, cleanliness, and efficiency
* Ensure documentation compliance for ISO9001 and EN9100 Quality Management Systems
What You’ll Do
* Setup and operate metal 3D Printing machines
* Process metal powder and maintain stringent quality control
* Execute maintenance and housekeeping for the entire workshop, including 3D printers, CNC, and manual machines
* Schedule and manage workflow through the workshop, covering CNC machining processes, inspection, material, and tool ordering
* Ensure the workspace is maintained as a clean, tidy, and safe environment
* Complete documentation to support ISO9001 and EN9100 Quality Management Systems
* Participate in Health and Safety risk assessments and the documentation of work procedures
* Liaise with suppliers to source materials and services as required
* Lead initiatives to increase productivity and reduce costs
* Manage personnel, including conducting performance reviews, onboarding, and training new team members
* Operate inspection equipment to check manufactured products to required standards
What We’re Looking For
* 5+ years of experience working in a metal machining workshop environment
* Trained in the operation of manual milling, grinding, turning, or EDM machines
* Experience with metal finishing techniques
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and symbols
* Inspection and measurement experience using manual metrology equipment
* Ability to work to a high standard under tight deadlines for demanding customer requirements
* Proven experience managing and motivating a team
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a team‑oriented mindset
* Practical mentality with an enthusiasm for a hands‑on approach
* Clean and methodical working style
* Adaptable to changing priorities from customer demand
* Literate in MS Office software
* Desirable: CAD and CAM software experience
* Desirable: Experience operating and programming CNC milling machines
* Desirable: Wire‑EDM skills (wire‑EDM training will be provided if needed)
* Desirable: Operation and programming of CMM metrology equipment
* Desirable: Experience with Additive Manufacturing
