We are looking for a skilled Planner or Senior Planner to join our Newcastle team and contribute to a variety of exciting projects. Role Overview: As a Planner/Senior Planner, you will play a key role in managing and delivering planning projects, providing expert advice, and liaising with clients, stakeholders, and local authorities. You will be responsible for preparing planning applications, conducting site appraisals, and supporting the development of strategic and local planning policies. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage planning applications, from initial assessment through to decision, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations. Prepare detailed planning reports, statements, and supporting documents for various development types. Provide professional planning advice to clients and internal teams. Engage with local authorities, statutory consultees, and community groups to facilitate smooth project delivery. Conduct site visits and assessments to gather essential data and insights. Support the development and review of local and strategic planning policies. Mentor and support junior team members (Senior Planner level). Keep up to date with national and local planning legislation, policies, and best practices. Requirements: Degree in Town Planning, Urban Planning, or a related discipline. Membership or working towards membership of RTPI (Royal Town Planning Institute) preferred. Proven experience in managing planning applications and advising on planning matters, ideally within the North East region. Strong knowledge of the UK planning system, policy frameworks, and legislation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
