Position: Materials Controller
Location: Westhoughton, Bolton BL5
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £30,000 - £31,040 per annum
Working Pattern: Full Time, Shift work 12 hrs Days and Nights
Driving Required: Yes
About the Role:
As a Materials Controller, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials throughout the manufacturing process. Reporting to the Materials Control Manager, you will be responsible for controlling, reconciling, and managing secure materials in line with company policies. Your expertise will help maintain a coordinated supply chain, working closely with our Supply Chain, Procurement, and Production teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Organise, count, and record all secure substrate waste with proper authority, ensuring daily removal of secure substrate spoils.
Conduct continuous monitoring and visual inspections of products and materials, promptly reporting any variances.
Ensure secure substrate materials are destroyed following established policies and procedures.
Maintain accurate records for all destroyed materials using computer-based tracking systems.
Collaborate with the Materials Control Working Team Leader (WTL) on investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
Participate in meetings, briefings, and materials reviews, providing valuable feedback.
Adhere to safety rules and procedures while utilising safety equipment when necessary.
Engage in ad hoc projects with the Materials Control team.
What We're Looking For:
Excellent organisational skills and timekeeping
Strong literacy and numeracy skills
FLT Driver
Ability to multi-task effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
Self-motivated and able to work well both independently and as part of a team
Must pass full 5 year clearance - Have UK Status for previous 5 yrs
Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of SAGE advantage
