Our Values: We Lead The Way | We Dream Big | We Get it Done | We Innovate | We Inspire our Community Role Purpose: The role of the Sports Therapist is to provide high standards of sports therapy and medical care in conjunction with the wider medical and performance team to contribute to the club values of professionalism, respect, integrity, discipline, and effort. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in elite professional sport and expertise in manual therapy and rehab support. Main Duties/ Responsibilities 1. Ability to deliver clinical quality in the treatment of players, including the design and delivery of individual rehabilitation programmes, understanding the entire needs of the player and football demands. 2. Use of manual therapy and innovative treatment techniques to aid injury management and fit playing squad recovery. 3. Ensure all injury and medical records are accurately updated on the Women’s Performance System in line with professional body and FA guidelines 4. Assist the Lead Physiotherapist, Head of Performance and Club Doctor with medical testing in conjunction with external service providers, and keep up to date club and external databases 5. UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) and FA Anti-Doping regulations are adhered to at all times, and any requirements from UKAD or FA Anti-Doping are actioned immediately. 6. Collaborate with the wider MDT on the design and implementation of world-class recovery strategies to enhance player care, availability and recovery. 7. Lead on the logistics of packing and take responsibility for physiotherapy provision orders and stock taking. 8. What we are looking for Qualifications and Training Essential · Full membership of The Society of Sports Therapy · Have appropriate medical indemnity to treat BWSL players · Full up to date Level 5 ATMMiF first aid qualification · FA safeguarding children certificate Desirable · MSc in Sports Medicine or equivalent · Post-graduate qualification in manual therapy, soft tissue mobilisation/manipulation · Accredited acupuncture qualification Knowledge, Skills and Experience Essential · 5 years working in an elite sporting environment · Experience of leading pitch based medical provision · Experience of delivering an extensive range of manual therapies to support rehabilitation and recovery strategies · Experience collaborating with the wider MDT to deliver elite medical and performance care Desirable · Specific experience in elite woman’s sport at professional, national or Olympic level · Knowledge of women’s football · Spanish or French as an additional language to English Characteristics · Passionate about women’s football and broader women’s sport culture. · Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to deal with matrix stakeholders & ambiguity. · High standards of personal integrity and EQ. · Comfortable and able to work on own initiative · Has a learning mindset; is keen to continue their self-development and keep up to date with best practice and learning opportunities · Continually seeks to improve efficiency and performance · Seeks out and embraces new ways of thinking and working – not afraid to fail.
