SUMMARY: We are looking for a self-motivated and personable full-time permanent Field Services Technician. As a Field Service Technician, you will play a critical role in providing expert guidance, analysis, and solutions related to dust collection systems and industrial air quality. Your in-depth expertise will help our clients implement new dust collection systems, optimize existing dust collection systems, ensure regulatory compliance (particularly as it relates to combustible dust), and enhance workplace safety and environmental sustainability. You will help drive positive changes in dust collection practices across industries.
Essential Job Duties And Responsibilities
* Utilize your specialized expertise in the service and evaluation of dust collector systems to provide valuable insights and guidance to clients.
* Collaborate closely with clients engaged in hazardous material handling, particularly in chemical and combustible dust manufacturing, fostering strong and trustworthy relationships.
* Evaluate and identify other non-Camfil APC dust collection and HVAC systems in relation to the above mentioned relationships in conjunction with service sales and filter sales for that equipment.
* Lead and conduct thorough collector installations and hazard assessments of existing collection systems, including combustible dust hazard analysis (DHAs) and related services.
* Provide maintenance service on all types of dust, mist and wet collectors including but not limited to filter change outs and on-site trouble shooting as well.
* Collaborate with clients and factory teams to offer insights into combustible dust applications and on-site evaluations of existing dust collection systems or possible future dust collections sites.
* Deliver comprehensive training to external contractors equipping their staff with the necessary knowledge to service and maintain dust collection equipment effectively on Camfil related systems as an extension of the Camfil APC service team.
* Cost estimation of possible service hours and materials for potential service jobs.
* Utilize your strong communication skills to cultivate and enhance customer relationships, thereby driving further business growth.
* Work with Camfil APC New England sales team to identify potential sales opportunities.
Minimum Qualifications
* Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school with HVAC training and certification is preferred. Minimum requirement of High School diploma or equivalent is required with 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in construction or field services, specifically with a focus on industrial ventilation, within manufacturing environments.
* Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
* Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
* Competence in reading and explaining PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment drawings.
* Able to sit and occasionally to stand and walk for duration of shift.
* Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
* Must have above average reading comprehension, writing and oral communication skills.
* Proficiency in writing and verbal communication skills in English.
* A willingness to gain proficiency in Industrial Ventilation Design, NFPA, and other standards related to industrial ventilation, dust control and combustible dust hazards.
* HVAC system installation and operations understanding and balancing is advantageous.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
* Willingness to travel overnight within North America, amounting to 30% to 50% of your time
* OSHA, and lift certification.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to office, warehouse, plant environments, and varying outdoor weather conditions. The work environment will require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in certain areas. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
