Pharmacy Technician - Ystwyth Medical Group
Job Summary
Salary available upon request. 24 hours a week. The Primary Care Pharmacy Technician will work alongside the practice's Advanced Clinical Pharmacist to support the clinical team in all aspects of prescribing and medicines safety. The role supports improvements to maximise safe and best practice in prescribing and improve the quality of patient care. You will be a point of contact for patients' prescription queries, conduct medicines reconciliation after discharge and other transfers of care, identify patients suitable for repeat dispensing, assist in monitoring high‑risk drugs, and handle prescription queries within your areas of competence. You will also train and develop repeat prescribing clerks and coordinate pharmacy administration within general practice.
Responsibilities
* Support prescribing and medicines safety with the Advanced Clinical Pharmacist.
* Serve as point of contact for patients' prescription queries.
* Conduct medicines reconciliation after discharge and other transfers of care.
* Identify patients suitable for repeat dispensing.
* Assist in monitoring high‑risk drugs.
* Handle prescription queries within areas of competence.
* Train and develop repeat prescribing clerks.
* Coordinate pharmacy administration in general practice.
Qualifications
* Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Pharmacy Services or equivalent.
* GCSE A‑C in English and Mathematics.
Experience
* Experience of dealing with patients.
* Experience working in Primary Care (desirable).
Employment Details
* Contract: Permanent.
* Working pattern: Part‑time, flexible working, 24 hours a week (ideally Wednesday to Friday, February/March 2026, with potential additional hours).
