Job Title: Head of Engineering
Location: Cookstown
Salary: £95,000 + Benefits & Bonus
Were recruiting a Head of Engineering for a leading food manufacturer based in Cookstown. This is a senior leadership role where youll take full ownership of engineering and maintenance across a busy, high-volume site.

What youll be doing as Head of Engineering:
Lead, develop, and structure the site engineering team
Take full ownership of planned and reactive maintenance across all equipment
Drive reliability improvements, reduce downtime, and improve asset performance
Ensure compliance across food safety, H&S, and environmental standards
Oversee maintenance systems, calibration schedules, and engineering documentation
Set, track, and report on engineering KPIs to senior leadership
Work closely with production and technical teams to resolve issues quickly
Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and TPM principles
What were looking for in a Head of Engineering:
Proven experience in a Head of Engineering or senior engineering leadership role
Background in food manufacturing or FMCG (abattoir experience a bonus)
Strong understanding of maintenance systems, quality systems, and compliance
Experience managing preventative maintenance, calibrations, and repairs
Confident leading teams and driving performance on a fast-paced site
Knowledge of Lean, TPM, and continuous improvement methodologies
HNC/HND in Engineering or equivalent
Strong communicator, organised, and able to operate at a senior level
