Does playing board games, baking, visiting café's, going to the cinema sound like an interesting role? Do you have pervious care or support worker experience and you're looking for a rewarding and enjoyable new role?
Following an Acquired Brain Injury my daughter now needs a team of PA's to support her to be as independent as possible within our family home and out and about in the local area. I would describe my daughter as bubbly and smart, with a great, fun sense of humour. She lives in the moment and is good company. She enjoys visiting the beach and having a drink and chocolate brownie in our local café. She also loves playing board games like Rummikub and Tabula. At home she enjoys watching action and comedy TV programmes like SWAT and Friends or finding a new recipe so that she can try to make the perfect chocolate brownie (she has a sweet tooth!)
My daughter is a wheelchair user with limited mobility in her arms, and her short term memory has been affected by her ABI, however her long term memory is good. The role is to take care of her personal care needs, help with her mobility, help feed her and offer her drinks. The role also will involve helping her with her exercises and actively participate in her rehabilitation, help with using her phone and eye-gaze, provide companionship, drive and accompany her to therapy sessions and any social activities.
