Siemens Smart Infrastructure are recruiting aControl Engineerand aSenior Control Engineerwith experience in the Electrical Power Transmission & Distribution industry to help us find solutions consolidating and enhancing the Nation’s electricity network for a smarter and brighter future tomorrow.
Based at Hebburn near Newcastle upon Tyne the successful candidate will be in a Control engineering role with the responsibility for helping upgrade existing infrastructure using Siemens portfolio of control systems to ensure future sustainability for T&D network.
We have two exciting opportunities - a Senior Control Engineer and a Control Engineer. As each role has its own set of requirements, responsibility and skills, we will evaluate this during the interview process and select an appropriate level for the individuals we appoint in the role.
Location: This role will be 70% Hebburn office / home and 30% travel to customer sites.
Areas of Responsibility:
As ourControl Engineer, you will be responsible for:
* Production/checking of Design documentation such as I/O Schedules, Functional Design Specifications and Design Intent Documents.
* Development and configuration of engineering control solutions. Configuration and testing of networks (RSTP, PRP) utilising software tools for analyses and fault finding.
* Production/checking of all test documentation. Production / checking of functional design specifications and design intent documents
* Carry out FAT activities
* Provide SAT support
* Ensuring that solutions meet the requirements of the latest policies and standards
As ourSenior Control Engineer your responsibilities will be as above and will also include:
* Attend internal and external design reviews providing technical input
* Provide technical input for tendering activities
* Mentoring of apprentices / graduates within the business
What skills and experience you will bring to the role:
* Experience of National Grid delivery and/or Control / Automation background.
* A minimum qualification of HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering and/or experience in the Electricity Transmission and Distribution Industry
Desired Experience
* Experience in a similar role medium to large scale SCADA systems, control systems, automation systems and communication infrastructure.
* Good understanding communication protocols and Siemens SICAM Portfolio.
* The Senior Control Engineer will also require a desire to technically lead the Control solutions in the team.
