As part of continued growth at their Southampton Hospital, they are now recruiting a Site Lead Pharmacist / Pharmacy Manager to lead and develop pharmacy services at a senior, strategic level.
The Role of a Pharmacy Manager
As the most senior pharmacist on site, you will have full accountability for the delivery, leadership, and development of clinical pharmacy services across the hospital, Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC), and affiliated departments.
Reporting to the Head of Clinical Services, you will:
* Lead and manage a permanent pharmacy team of 6 (Clinical Pharmacists, Technicians, and Assistant)
* Coordinate staffing, rotas, and service delivery to ensure safe, compliant, patient-focused care
* Drive the strategic development of pharmacy services in collaboration with senior site leadership and the National Director of Pharmacy
* Establish and maintain robust clinical governance, medicines management, audits, and risk frameworks
* Oversee day-to-day ward and dispensary services, ensuring efficiency and clarity of roles
* Act as the senior clinical pharmacy role model, providing expert advice to consultants, clinicians, and patients
* Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes
About You
You will be a GPhC-registered Pharmacist with:
* MPharm (or equivalent)
* Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy (or equivalent)
* Significant senior-level pharmacy management experience
* Background in Hospital Pharmacy, Secondary Care, or Outpatient Pharmacy Management
* (Candidates from Primary Care or Community Pharmacy with strong management expertise will also be considered)
* Excellent people management skills, including supervision, appraisal, and workforce development
* Experience in medicines management, service development, governance, and KPI reporting
* Independent Prescribing qualification (or willingness to work towards it) is advantageous
