Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our domiciliary care team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in home care or community care management, demonstrating excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
The Deputy Manager will support the Registered Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the service, ensuring the safe and effective delivery of high-quality, person-centred care to clients in their own homes. This role requires a compassionate and proactive individual committed to promoting independence, dignity, and choice for every service user.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Registered Manager in the overall management of the home care service, ensuring compliance with CQC regulations, company policies, and best practice standards.
* Supervise, mentor, and support care staff, providing guidance, feedback, and promoting a positive and professional working culture.
* Complete initial care assessments for new service users to determine their individual needs, preferences, and outcomes.
* Develop, review, and update person-centred care plans to ensure they accurately reflect each service user's current needs, risks, and goals.
* Conduct regular reviews and spot checks to ensure care plans are followed, tasks are completed appropriately, and high standards of care are maintained.
* Liaise effectively with service users, their families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to ensure coordinated and holistic care delivery.
* Support with rota planning, staff deployment, and ensuring consistent continuity of care.
* Lead, support, and participate in staff training, supervisions, and appraisals to maintain a skilled and competent team.
* Respond promptly and professionally to complaints, incidents, and safeguarding concerns, ensuring appropriate documentation and escalation.
* Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date records of care delivery, staff management, and compliance activities.
* Contribute to continuous service improvement, identifying areas for development and implementing corrective actions as required.
Skills and Experience
* Proven experience in a home care, domiciliary care, or community support management role.
* Strong understanding of CQC compliance, safeguarding, and care quality standards.
* Effective leadership and team management abilities, with experience supervising and supporting frontline care staff.
* Knowledge of person-centred care planning and risk management in a home care environment.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients, families, and professionals.
* Good organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
* A compassionate and respectful approach, promoting independence and dignity for all service users.
* NVQ Level 4 or 5 in Leadership and Management (or equivalent qualification) – essential.
* Full UK driving licence and preferably access to a vehicle.

Pay: £36,000.00-£39,000.00 per year
