Essex County Council (ECC) is supporting Basildon Borough Council (BBC) in recruiting two Town Centre Regeneration and Delivery Managers on an initial 6-month temporary basis. These positions will require presence in the office 2-3 days per week.

Main Purpose:
Basildon Borough is leading a significant regeneration agenda, focusing on vibrant, inclusive, and economically resilient town centres. This role is crucial in shaping and delivering this vision, especially in Basildon Town Centre, our hub for regional cultural and leisure growth.
The Town Centre Regeneration and Delivery Manager will:
* Support the Executive Director of Growth and Partnerships in leading and managing regeneration projects and initiatives across the Borough, aligned with the Council’s strategies and priorities.
* Develop strategies and policies based on best regeneration practices.
Main Responsibilities:
* This role will support the Growth and Partnership Directorate, assisting the Assistant Directors of Planning, Regeneration & Economic Development, and Property, Assets & Development in leading regeneration functions and providing expertise across services.
* Bring regeneration expertise and innovative solutions, fostering a culture of high productivity, delivery, and professionalism.
* Develop work plans and monitor programmes across relevant teams to ensure compliance and performance, and contribute to corporate regeneration policies and procedures.
* Prepare updates and briefings for senior management and reports for external bodies regarding regeneration strategies, budgets, and outcomes.
Key skills and experience required:
* Extensive local government experience in regeneration, with the ability to provide high-level professional advice.
* Proven experience managing multiple complex projects on time and within budget, with strong project, resource, and people management skills.
* Significant financial management experience and commercial acumen, with a track record of participating in complex change programs.
