Position Overview:
The firm is seeking a Paralegal for its Public Law & Human Rights Department. The role involves supporting up to three qualified lawyers within a team consisting of partners, solicitors, and associates. The work primarily includes judicial review, public law matters, and select planning and environmental cases. There is potential consideration for a future training contract through an internal process.
Roles and Responsibilities:
* Handle new client enquiries and assist in case preparation
* Manage file administration and documentation
* Prepare and manage funding applications to the Legal Aid Agency
* Conduct legal research and analyse complex information
* Draft witness statements, schedules, and aspects of legal advice
* Process and organise evidence and case materials
* Prepare, collate, and manage legal documentation
* Attend client conferences, court hearings, and counsel meetings
Eligibility:
* Highly motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented candidates
* Strong writing, research, communication, and organisational skills
* Ability to handle confidential matters and work under pressure
* Demonstrated interest in public law and human rights
* Relevant experience or transferable skills (legal or non-legal backgrounds welcome)
* Commitment to assisting vulnerable clients and upholding high service standards
