From viral news stories to educational articles and online events, we serve the scientific community as a trusted resource, enabling them to explore the science that matters most to them. This role is ideal for someone with a solid scientific background who is passionate about science communication and eager to develop their skills. In this role, you will write, edit, and source content that engages our thriving global scientific audience. Responsibilities: • Work within the core news & feature team to cover breaking science news and produce a variety of original content that satisfies the curiosity of our scientific audience. • Source high-quality scientific content, including breaking news, press releases, and current research. • Proofread, edit, and optimize content for clarity, accuracy, engagement, and search visibility • Undertake interviews with academic scientists and industry experts. • Utilize AI tools to enhance and support editorial workflows. • Identify, secure, and support third-party content contributors. • Collaborate with the social media team to share content on Technology Networks’ platforms. • Moderate webinars and online events. Experience & Skills: • Solid scientific background (Essential) • 1–2 years of writing and editing experience (scientific articles, news releases, blogs, or similar). • Passionate about science and science communication. • Strong editing and writing skills, with excellent attention to detail. • Experienced in researching topics across multiple scientific fields. • Social media savvy and able to optimize content for online audiences. • Self-motivated and able to set priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • SEO experience is desirable but not essential • Experience with AI tools is desirable but not essential Education: • Essential: Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, biology, or a related scientific discipline. • Desirable: Higher degree (MSc or PhD) in a relevant field.
