I’m looking for a solid maintenance engineer who knows how to keep a factory moving. Someone who can respond fast to breakdowns, fault-find properly, and fix issues right the first time — not patch them up and walk away.
This site has seen multi-million-pound investment and upgrades. Newer equipment, improved systems and higher expectations. I need engineers who can work to that level and help drive performance, not just react to problems.
You’ll be part of the production support team, working closely with engineering leadership and production to keep availability high, downtime low and standards where they should be.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll provide a responsive, professional engineering service that supports production and protects performance.
You will:
Respond quickly and safely to plant stoppages and breakdowns
Fault-find and repair machinery across electrical and mechanical systems
Work on single-phase and three-phase electrical systems
Maintain, adjust and service equipment to keep it running at optimum performance
Complete planned preventative maintenance within your competence
Improve equipment availability and performance to support OEE targets
Identify recurring faults and implement long-term improvements
Work with engineering leadership and external engineers on complex issues
Accurately record labour and parts using the PPM system (SAP)
Complete documentation properly and report non-conformances immediately
Support training and assessment of operators and colleagues on machine operation
What I’m looking for
Essential:
NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability
Able to work under pressure and make sound decisions
Good communication skills and attention to detail
Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
Delivers quality work and takes ownership
