The Production and Operations Placement role:To work as part of the fast-paced Production team, to help achieve the daily production plan of our food products for retail and food service customers, whilst adhering to procedures, rules and processes set out by production management and other key functions. Whilst also undertaking vital project work, aligning with our efficiencies targets set by our strategic sustainability goals.Main Duties:Operate state-of-the-art operation tools, machinery and equipment for which in-depth compliance training has been provided, to assist in the manufacturing process of all FMCG productsTo ensure the achievement of the daily production plan alongside the Production Managers and communicate shortfalls and problems to the relevant manager in a timely manner, whilst supporting in the solution of any production challengesCollate and report vital production KPIs as instructed accurately and within time specificationsEnsure that all products produced are within foods safety, hygiene and quality standards and that any anomalies are reported to your line manager and that correct procedures are followedShadow department heads and managers during their day-to-day management rolesWork collaboratively with the operations team and other relevant departments to complete any efficiencies projects which have been set by the senior leadership teamAttending and contributing to Production team meetingsWhat are we looking for?A minimum of a 2:1 in your degree subject forecast for the end of year twoComfortable and willing to work within a fast paced, manufacturing environmentA hands-on, confident person who enjoys working with peopleA keen interest in OperationsComfortable working as part of a large team and individually when requiredAble to adapt to changing priorities based on business demandsKey relationships that a placement would work in collaboration withThe Production and Department ManagersOperatives and Team Leaders within the production facilitySustainability CoordinatorSafety, Health and Environment departmentAdditional Information:This placement is suited for anyone with a keen interest in working with advanced, high tech machinery and large teams of peopleYou can expect an amount of specific thorough training to benefit you within your placement role and ensure you are compliant and competent during your industry placement year with CranswickDepending on the site, there is a requirement for flexibility given that our sites work to an array of shift patterns covering day and night shifts. The placement student will work in alignment with their chosen shift- which will be with the day shift pattern.
