The Psychologists who work across our service value the variety that working within Older People\'s Mental Health Services can bring and enjoy using a broad range of knowledge and skills to provide assessment, formulation and interventions, conduct neuropsychological assessments for complex presentations, offer advice and consultation to colleagues, and to be involved in training and development initiatives.
The post is line managed through a robust Psychology structure and offers great opportunities to develop a specialist area of psychological expertise.
Team and Practice
The successful candidate will be welcomed into a vibrant and creative team of skilled Psychologists who have extensive experience, knowledge and skill, and are passionate about working within older people\'s services. There are excellent opportunities for high quality supervision, and within our team we have Psychologists with further training and experience in a range of therapeutic models (e.g. ACT, CFT, Systemic Therapy, ISTDP, MBT and EMDR), and Psychologists who have done further training in Neuropsychology and are on the SRCN.
Development and Wellbeing
Our Psychology Service has a strong focus on staff wellbeing, is keen to support and develop research activities, and is leading the Trust\'s development of trauma-informed approaches. There are excellent opportunities for peer support, to join a range of specialist supervision groups and to participate in regular in-house and external CPD. We also have strong links with local Psychology Training Courses and provide regular placements and teaching.
Role Details
The post is offered at a band 7 or 8a (dependent on experience) with the potential for progression from band 7 to 8a through a competency-based gateway.
