Role Overview
The Manufacturing Engineer will develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, improve sustainability, and maximize profitability. Collaboration with design, quality, and production teams is essential to ensure manufacturing systems meet company goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Process Design and Improvement: Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes focusing on DFMA, conduct PFMEAs, develop control plans, optimize layouts, and standardize workflows for continuous improvement.
2. Production Support: Provide technical assistance, troubleshoot issues, develop work instructions, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
3. Quality Control: Establish quality systems, lead root cause analysis using 8D methodology, collaborate with QA, and manage NCRs.
4. Equipment and Tooling: Specify, install, maintain, and improve manufacturing equipment; design and procure tooling and fixtures; apply lean strategies.
5. Cost Reduction: Apply Lean Six Sigma, analyze costs, and collaborate with procurement to optimize material use and reduce waste.
6. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain process documentation, generate performance reports, and ensure traceability of modifications.
7. Project Management: Lead manufacturing projects, develop NPI methodologies, manage timelines and budgets, and drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Skills
Candidates should have:
* Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent experience.
* Significant experience in manufacturing or process engineering, preferably in process plants, HVAC, or large infrastructure projects.
* Experience with PLM, PDM, ERP systems, and BOM management.
* Expertise in DFMA, PFMEAs, control plans, and problem-solving (8D).
* Proficiency in CAD software and lean methodologies.
* Knowledge of QMS (ISO 9001), project management, and team collaboration.
