Role Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for an Installation and Maintenance Technician within our Industrial Gases Operations in the UK&I. The role involves practical work at Customer Engineering Sites and Operations Production facilities, including troubleshooting, repair, preventive maintenance, installation, and some design of control and instrumentation systems. You will also support installation activities for customer projects and commissioning activities for installations, supporting both gas sales and equipment contracts.
Responsibilities
* Ensure safe operation and legal compliance of sites.
* Complete all legal inspections on time using SAP for planning.
* Respond promptly to unplanned maintenance needs.
* Maintain accurate documentation, both written and electronic.
* Process plant instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow, level, gas detection).
* Manage shutdown systems and control systems, including PLCs.
* Operate control and switching valves of various types.
* Maintain pneumatic control systems.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in a customer-facing role.
* Experience in service or installation field roles.
* Qualified to work on field instrumentation in flammable atmospheres (COMPEX approved).
* Qualified to perform electrical inspection and testing on electrical systems.
* Knowledge of PLC-controlled systems, fault-finding, and remote integration.
* Experience working in the industrial gas/oil industry environment.
* Experience with pressurized systems in compliance with PSSR 2000 legislation.
* Recognized apprenticeship in instrumentation or electrical work.
* HNC or NVQ equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
* Valid full driver’s license.
