In this role you will be working across different teams and services, as well as with key businesses and partners to develop our offer for children and young people.
You will also be working with key professionals and partners to share the opportunities and ensure children and young people understand the offer available to them. This is a unique and challenging role which allows the right person to maximise the opportunities and support to our children in care and care experienced young people.
The role works closely with our Children in Care and Care Leavers teams to identify themes and interests coming from young people. The role will also work with our Bfriends charity to ensure we provide our children and young people with new opportunities, events, work experience, jobs and apprenticeships.
We have been rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted, following a 2023 inspection. This is a fantastic achievement for Birmingham Children's Trust, with many positive highlights focusing on areas including the quality of staff leadership, partnership working, safeguarding and corporate parenting.
This is a hybrid role based in Birmingham so you must reside within a suitable commutable distance around Birmingham and have the correct right-to-work documents to work in the UK. Sadly, we do not support those who require sponsorship.
About you:
Its essential for this role that you have:
* Experience of working closely with partners, businesses and different agencies in order to bring rewards elements via corporate social responsibility and the business charter
* Experience of delivering training to staff and able to communicate enthusiasm on Corporate Parenting initiatives for all staff (council and external), children and young people.
* Direct experience of working with vulnerable children and young people
* Maintaining data systems and producing accessible information
* An in-depth understanding of the role of the Children's Trust and Local Authority as a Corporate Parent
* Experience working in a social care setting
