Nights - Monday to Wednesday 8pm -6am Thursday 8pm-5am
Job Summary:
To work within the CNC Milling team planning and programming using Mazak or Fanuc Control systems on multi axis machines.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Reading and interpreting technical Drawings.
* Loading raw materials into the milling machine to create additional features that the CNC is unable to do.
* Operating and controlling the milling machine to create internal bores and chamfers.
* Perform reworks to specification.
* Able to use an array of measuring equipment including Verniers, Bore Mic's, Plug Gauges, Thread gauges and Slips.
* To operate hand air tools to drill and fettle aircraft components.
* Monitoring the milling machine to ensure operations are carried out to exact specifications.
* Performing regular maintenance checks on machinery.
* Setting up milling machines and adjusting their speed.
* Measuring and inspecting completed work to ensure compliance with specifications.
* Replacing dull cutting tools to maintain optimal machine performance.
* Identifying problems with the machine.
* Maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
* Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
Knowledge and Skills:
* Experienced multi axis CNC Milling Machinist.
* Comprehensive product and working practice knowledge.
* Setting and operating multi axis machines with high-level understanding of machining processes.
* Able to prove out and aid in Technical Machining Related issues.
* Capable and experienced in operating with Heidenhian, Fanuc, and Mazak controls.
* Competent in working to tight tolerances.
* Experienced programmer with excellent understanding of NC code and ISO programming.
* Able to read and interpret technical engineering drawings.
* Able to carry out self-inspection of complex components.
* Able to use and read a wide variety of measuring equipment such as Vernier Calipers, Micrometers, Depth Micrometers, Height Gauges, Gauges, and Shadow Graphs.
* Excellent cutting tooling knowledge.
* Excellent product, processes and working practice knowledge.
* Highly skilled and experienced in machining various materials, such as aluminium, titanium and steels.
* Essential team player.
* Adaptable, flexible and reliable.
* Happy to work from own initiative.
Experience and Education:
* Experience in the manufacturing/aerospace industry.
* Achieved machining qualifications.
* 5 years' experience in a workshop environment.
