We are seeking a diligent and experienced Credit Manager to oversee the credit granting process, assess customer creditworthiness, and ensure timely collections while minimizing bad debts. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in credit risk analysis, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to implement credit control policies that align with the company's financial objectives.
* Develop and manage the company's credit policy, credit limits, and approval processes.
* Evaluate customer creditworthiness through financial analysis, credit scoring, and background checks.
* Approve or reject credit applications based on risk assessments and business strategy.
* Monitor accounts receivable balances and proactively manage overdue accounts.
* Coordinate with sales and finance teams to resolve payment issues or disputes.
* Prepare regular credit risk reports and aging analysis for senior management.
* Oversee collections activities and ensure compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
* Maintain strong relationships with customers while managing credit risk effectively.
* Work with external agencies for debt recovery when necessary.
* Continuously improve credit assessment tools, policies, and procedures.
* Experience in credit control, credit risk management, or accounts receivable.
* Experience managing a credit or collections team is an advantage.
* Strong financial analysis skills and understanding of credit risk principles.
* Proficiency in accounting/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks, NetSuite).
* Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with credit scoring tools.
* Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to credit and collections.
* Certification in Credit Management (CICM, NACM) is a plus.
* Experience in B2B credit management or in specific industries (manufacturing, logistics, retail).
* Familiarity with international credit and trade terms, if applicable.
* Strong negotiation and communication skills.
