The pharmacy departments across the NCA are in the process of transforming to become a single pharmacy service under the direction of the NCA Chief Pharmacist. By the pharmacy departments working together across the NCA we aim to deliver an outstanding pharmaceutical service across the group using state of the art electronic systems and automation. In addition, innovative working practices will be introduced to support all pharmacy staff.
This is a really exciting time to join our new team. We are currently restructuring how medications are supplied from the various pharmacy departments in the NCA. As part of this process, we are expanding the stores team at Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust. Salford Royal Pharmacy Department holds a Wholesale Dealers Authorisation meaning that we supply medications to a range of external healthcare customers in addition to patients seen within the hospital. We also utilise automated storage solutions to improve the efficiency of our procurement processes and are currently heavily involved in the COVID-19 vaccination program. We are seeking a motivated pharmacy stores Assistant Technical Officer to join our team.
Working under the supervision of the Pharmacy Stores Manager, you will be responsible for the receipt and storage of medications and bulk fluids into the pharmacy store, following Good Distribution Practice, and subsequent entry on the pharmacy computer system. You will also maintain appropriate stock levels of bulk fluids, pick medications for internal and external customers and manage stock deliveries and collections to/from the department by internal and external transport providers.
Although desirable, experience of stock control or previous employment in a pharmacy environment is not needed. The post holder will contribute to the weekend working rota.
