Job description
Supporting the management of the Highway Drainage and Flood Risk Management function, in accordance with the 'Well-managed Highway Infrastructure: A Code of Practice 2016' and 'Guidance on the Management of Highway Drainage Assets 2012'.
Supporting the continuous development and improvement of the role of the County Council as a Highway Authority and ensuring the County Council is a high achieving Authority in this respect.
Contribute to the successful delivery of the Councils duties and responsibilities, as Highway Authority, to maintain the highway asset stock and thereby provide a safe and reliable highway network for all users.
* Line managed by the Senior Project Engineer - Flood Risk Management
* Working with teams including but not limited to (Senior Project Engineers, Project Engineers, Senior Technicians, Technicians, External Resources, Inspection Assistants, Apprentices and Trainees)
* Support and work closely with the council Highways Hub.
* Excellent working relationships with colleagues within Network Planning and other parts of the Highway Service/Department to ensure joined up collaborative working.
* Support the team in advising Elected Members and Senior Managers.
* Local people, community groups and service users
* Work in partnership with Police, emergency services, statutory undertakers & utilities, Highways England and neighbouring authorities and any other external stakeholders.
* Be integral in supporting and informing network management and coordination countywide and within three geographical network areas.
