We are currently recruiting for a skilled CNC Setter Programmer to join a reputable precision engineering company based in Basildon. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced machinist looking for a stable day-shift role, competitive hourly rates, and the chance to work with modern 5-axis HAAS machines. Location: Close to Basildon, Essex
Rate: £23 – £25 per hour (DOE)
Shift: Day Shift – Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm
Overtime: Available
The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced CNC Setter Programmer to join a well-established precision engineering company in Basildon. This is a hands-on role involving offline and on-machine programming, setting, and operation of CNC milling machines, producing high-quality, tight-tolerance components.
Key Responsibilities
* Programming, setting, and operating CNC milling machines
* Working primarily with HAAS 5-axis machines
* Creating, editing, and proving programs at the machine
* Selecting and setting tooling, fixtures, and work offsets
* Producing components to precise engineering drawings and specifications
* Using measuring equipment to ensure quality and accuracy
* Troubleshooting and optimising programs to improve efficiency
* Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
Requirements
* Proven experience as a CNC Setter Programmer
* Strong background in 3-axis and 5-axis machining (5-axis preferred)
* Experience with Siemens control systems
* Ability to program, set, and operate independently
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
* Experience working to tight tolerances
