One of the UK’s largest packaging suppliers is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to support its National Accounts (retail division). This role offers the chance to join a company committed to innovative packaging solutions and professional development, including CIPS accredited training.
The Packaging Procurement Manager Role
Reporting to the Sales Director and supporting the Business Development Director, you will provide solutions to new customers, ensuring sourcing of materials and products at the best prices to meet customer briefs. The role involves managing multiple projects and aligning with the company's national procurement strategy. It is a full-time position, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Key Duties
* Manage and develop supplier relationships to optimize service and cost
* Source materials and products aligned with client briefs and design processes
* Collaborate with Business Development to support new proposals
* Ensure cost-effective purchasing transactions
* Communicate procurement strategy across the retail division
* Manage 'On Time In Full' metrics for the business area
* Liaise with central procurement teams
* Manage tender processes
* Conduct reporting and analysis on projects and new product lines
Candidate Profile
We seek experienced procurement professionals with at least two years' experience in corrugate, polythene, or design-led packaging solutions. Experience working with or alongside a national sales or retail customer base is advantageous. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, commercial acumen, and excellent communication and negotiation skills. Ability to work under pressure and maintain stakeholder relationships is essential. A desire for professional growth and interest in CIPS training is also important.
