This assignment shall support a business-wide transformation journey by embedding robust enterprise risk management (ERM) practices. This is a hands-on, strategic and operational role requiring a seasoned risk professional with the gravitas to influence at all levels and the operational capability to build frameworks from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assess the current risk portfolio and evaluate the quality and effectiveness of existing risk registers.
2. Develop and implement an enterprise-wide risk management framework that adds tangible business value.
3. Identify and address gaps in risk fundamentals and maturity.
4. Create and embed a risk management culture across all levels of the organisation.
5. Provide leadership and oversight to one interim team member.
6. Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to ensure risk is appropriately positioned (not within Internal Audit).
7. Support the transformation team by mapping out improvements and driving practical risk solutions.
Profile Requirements:
8. Proven track record as a career risk professional across multiple sectors (not just public sector).
9. Background in Big 4 consultancy or equivalent, with experience in risk transformation and embedding ERM.
10. Strong operational experience with the ability to assess current state and lead meaningful change.
11. Gravitas and credibility to engage senior stakeholders and drive accountability.
12. Able to work autonomously and bring a structured, value-driven approach to risk.
Ideal Candidate:
13. Experience with building risk functions in low-maturity environments.
14. Strong consultancy and transformation mindset
