We are currently working in partnership with a Social Housing Provider in the North West, who are recruiting for a permanent Damp and Mould Surveyor to cover Oldham and Rochdale.
This is a permanent position, with the salary for the role being £44,414 plus a company vehicle, as well as extensive list of benefits. The ideal candidate will be available to start in January/ February 2026.
The ideal candidate will have extensive damp, mould experience and happy liaising with tenants in a friendly manner and explaining the causes of Damp and Mould.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
* Conducting detailed inspections of residential and commercial properties to identify damp and mould issues
* Working knowledge of Awaab’s law
* Assessing moisture sources, condensation levels, and ventilation performance
* Diagnosing causes of damp, including rising damp, penetrating damp, and condensation
* Using specialist equipment to measure humidity, moisture content, and air quality
* Recording findings accurately and producing clear technical reports
* Recommending remedial actions in line with housing standards and best practice
* Advising occupants and landlords on prevention and maintenance measures
* Liaising with landlords, contractors, and housing officers regarding findings
* Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and housing regulations
* Monitoring follow-up works and verifying effectiveness of remedial treatments
Experience/Qualifications required:
* Experience carrying out Damp and Mould Surveys
* Experience liaising with tenants in a friendly manner
* Experience in finding the root cause of Damp and Mould
* HNC or equivalent qualifications
Working hours:
* 35 hours per week
* 08:30 – 16:00
* Monday – Friday, Flexible Start/Finish Times
