Financial Accountant
Permanent; Hybrid working is on offer (3 days in the office) after a 3-month period of being fully office based.
Salary circa £55,000 - £65,000 pa
Northwich, Cheshire
Under the supervision of the Financial Reporting Manager, the purpose of the role is to lead the Banks financial reporting and statutory accounting activities. You will support the delivery of superior financial management services to the Bank focusing on accuracy and timeliness whilst ensuring a robust control environment is in place.
Ensure the financial reporting activities of the Bank operate within an effective control environment.
Lead in delivering on-time activities concerning the Banks month-end closing process and reporting.
Assist with the half-year and full-year group reporting packs.
Assist with the annual financial statements and ensure an effective and issue-free external audit.
Prepare and review quarterly and annual VAT returns and oversee the review of the Banks Partial Exemption method on a periodic basis.
Enhance and automate key processes as agreed with the Financial Controller.
Enhance review processes by delivering additional analysis to support management review of key outputs.
Collaborate with the Management Accountant to deliver management reporting to the Bank as necessary.
The successful candidate will likely have:
Fully ACCA qualified and 5+ years of relevant post-qualified experience
Banking and/or Financial Services experience would be preferred, but not essential
Strong understanding of IFRS standards
Ability to work in the office, in Northwich, for 5 days a week over the first 3 months, and then 3 days (in a row) thereafter.
Microsoft Office Systems Knowledge especially Excel and Word
Project Management Techniques would be beneficial.
