The School of Psychological Science seeks to appoint a fixed-term academic until March 31, 2026, with a possible extension to March 2028. The successful candidate will join a growing team of academics that is focused on research methods training delivery, with a strategic remit to help the School develop a range of short courses and a research focus on meta-research (research on research). We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join a team of teaching and research staff within the School, with a particular interest in developing a strategy for the delivery of short courses for a range of audiences at different career stages, on topics such as open and reproducible research practices. We are therefore keen to invite individuals with experience in developing and delivering short courses to non-traditional academic audiences (e.g., CPD, lifelong learners). The successful candidate will contribute to the planning and delivery of and support for teaching and research training and the development of a research agenda in meta-research. The main job purpose will be to provide high quality support for students and staff (through laboratory teaching, project supervision, administrative support, marking, and taking on special administrative projects to enhance our curriculum and student experience) and develop our meta-research profile. We are keen to interview both candidates who are interested in pursuing a research and teaching pathway (Pathway 1) or a teaching-focused pathway (Pathway 3). Determination of pathway will be decided once the successful candidate has been identified.
