Position Overview We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Maintenance Engineer with a strong electrical background to join our plastic injection moulding factory in Worcester. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and repair of manufacturing equipment. The successful candidate will also be required to provide daily activity reports and weekly improvement progress updates to ensure transparency and continuous development. Key Details Work Pattern - Days Reporting to: Site Leader Responsibilities 1. Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting Perform routine maintenance and repairs on plastic injection moulding machines and auxiliary equipment (e.g., chillers, robots, granulators & air compressors). Diagnose and resolve electrical issues, including PLCs, control systems, and other electronic subsystems. Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns. 2.Electrical Focus Oversee and maintain electrical systems critical to production processes. Implement upgrades or modifications to improve equipment performance. Ensure compliance with safety standards for all electrical work. 3. Operational Efficiency Collaborate with production teams to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency. Develop strategies to improve the reliability and safety of machinery and processes. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using digital tools. 4.Reporting Submit detailed daily activity reports outlining tasks completed, issues encountered, and resolutions implemented. Provide weekly improvement progress reports highlighting areas of success, challenges faced, and plans for further enhancement. 5. Team Collaboration Work closely with other engineering professionals and production staff to ensure seamless operations. Communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels to address maintenance priorities. 6.Health & Safety Adhere to health and safety regulations in all maintenance activities. Conduct risk assessments for maintenance tasks as needed. What We're Looking For Proven maintenance experience in plastic injection moulding or similar manufacturing environment. Strong electrical background — PLC programming and fault-finding is essential Engineering qualification at Level 3 minimum (Electrical, Mechatronics or equivalent) Someone who takes ownership — you'll be trusted to manage priorities and make decisions independently Comfortable with digital maintenance tools and CMMS reporting Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach with production teams Any previous experience mentoring or supervising junior engineers is a real advantage Why Join Us?
