HMP Lancaster Farms is a category C Prison located on the outskirts of Lancaster, the site supports around 550 male patients aged 18-70. Within this role you will be working with an established integrated multidisciplinary team including ACP and NMP's to delivery a high quality healthcare service and prescribing. This role will focus mainly on delivering care to patients with long term conditions, acute needs and substance misuse, the site has a second GP who focuses on mental health services. Hours 20 hours/ 5 sessions per week We are flexible as to how this is worked is could be across 2.5-3 days a week between Monday and Friday Salary This is a part time role with a salary between £103,600 and £124,320 per annum FTE depending on experience How will we support you? • Bespoke induction, including our Introducing Health in Justice training course • Competency framework • Regional and national career development opportunities • Our bespoke Learning Management System to address your learning needs • Support from the wider team Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks What you'll be doing: Our General Practitioners are extremely valued and are well respected members of the Prison Healthcare community, as a General Practitioner, your responsibilities will vary. Qualifications required MBChB or MBBS Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice Evidence of continuing professional development Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these qualifications Secure environments are one of the most challenging, yet rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work.
