This school provides tailored education and support for pupils with a range of special educational needs, including learning difficulties, communication challenges, autism spectrum conditions, and sensory impairments. About the Role As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with diverse needs to access their education and reach their full potential. You will work closely with class teachers and specialists to deliver tailored support to students across various age groups. Key responsibilities include: Aiding in the implementation of tailored learning activities tailored to each student’s unique needs Supporting students’ communication skills, social interactions, and emotional growth Applying behaviour management strategies to encourage inclusion and foster positive conduct Offering 1-1 or small group assistance to help students address and overcome learning obstacles Assisting with daily routines, sensory-based activities, and therapeutic interventions as required Observing and tracking student progress, documenting developments to inform future support strategies Working closely with colleagues, parents, and external specialists to deliver consistent and effective support The Candidate The ideal candidate will be compassionate, patient, and adaptable, with a genuine passion for working with children and young people with SEN. Previous experience working with SEN pupils, in educational settings, or in support roles is desirable but not essential. A positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and a flexible approach are essential qualities for success in this role.
