You will become a key member of the school's support team, ensuring the site is in an excellent state of repair and cleanliness. This position is a full-time role, working Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm.
Detailed Job Description
As a Site Supervisor, you will:
Ensure Safety and Security: Be responsible for the daily security of the school buildings and grounds. This includes acting as a key holder, performing regular security checks, and overseeing all health and safety procedures.
Manage Maintenance and Repairs: Undertake routine maintenance, minor repairs, and general DIY projects. You will also manage and monitor external contractors working on site, ensuring all work is completed to a high standard.
Maintain Cleanliness and Appearance: Supervise the school's cleaning team to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained throughout the premises. You will also be responsible for keeping the grounds, pathways, and external areas tidy and safe.
Oversee Operations: Manage and monitor the school's heating, lighting, and other systems. You will also handle deliveries, move furniture and equipment, and manage stock levels of essential supplies.
Support the School Community: Work collaboratively with the Headteacher and other staff to support the school's maintenance plan and contribute to a positive and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Proven experience in site management, caretaking, or a similar role, preferably within a school or public building environment.
A strong understanding of health and safety procedures, including COSHH regulations.
Excellent practical skills for carrying out minor repairs and maintenance.
A proactive and flexible approach with the ability to manage your own workload effectively.
Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff, students, and external contractors.
The ability to act as a key holder and respond to emergency call-outs if required (this is a desirable trait).
