We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Acute Oncology and CUP Service within a busy District General Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic and supportive multidisciplinary team, delivering specialist care to patients presenting with acute cancer-related complications and suspected cancer of unknown primary. The post holder will play a key role in improving patient outcomes, supporting early intervention, and enhancing patient experience across acute and ambulatory settings Assess, support and manage patients with acute oncology and CUP presentations in ambulatory and inpatient settings. Contribute to the UKONS Acute Oncology Triage Helpline, providing timely telephone assessment and advice. Support ambulatory care pathways to avoid unnecessary admissions and promote safe discharge. Provide outreach advice and support to ward teams caring for in-patients with acute oncology needs. Act as a key point of contact for patients, carers and healthcare professionals. Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to coordinate safe, effective care. Maintain accurate clinical documentation and escalate concerns appropriately. Contribute to service improvement, audit and education activities.
