Job Title: Regional Clinical Quality and Governance Manager (RNLD)

Location: Southern Services - From Stevenage down to Brighton - Regional role – hybrid working with travel across services within the region (HQ attendance occasionally required)

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse (RNLD) to join our team as a Regional Clinical Quality and Governance Manager, supporting services within our Specialist Learning Disabilities Division.

This is a hands-on, practice-focused role working directly with service teams to support the delivery of safe, high-quality, person-centred care for adults with learning disabilities, autism, complex needs and behaviours that challenge.

You will work closely with Registered Managers and operational leaders to monitor quality, support regulatory compliance, embed good clinical practice, and drive practical improvements in care delivery. The role involves regular visits to services, providing guidance, conducting audits, reviewing incidents, and supporting teams to continuously improve.

This role requires an individual who has previously worked in a quality assurance, governance, or regulatory compliance role within health or social care, with experience supporting services to meet regulatory standards and improve practice.

Applications will only be considered from candidates who are Registered Learning Disabilities Nurses with demonstrable experience in a quality, governance or regulatory compliance role.

Reporting Structure

Reports to the CEO.

Works closely with:

Operational Managers
Heads of Service
Positive Behaviour Support Team
Quality and Compliance Team
Commissioners and external professionals
Care Quality Commission (CQC)

Key Responsibilities

Support services across the region to maintain and improve quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Conduct regular quality assurance visits, audits, and clinical reviews within services.

Provide practical support and guidance to Registered Managers and teams to address quality concerns and improve standards of care.

Monitor and review incidents, safeguarding concerns, complaints, and restrictive practices, ensuring appropriate actions and learning are embedded.

Support services to prepare for and respond to CQC inspections.

Ensure care and support practices align with CQC Fundamental Standards, safeguarding requirements, MCA/DoLS, and best practice guidance.

Work directly with teams to improve care planning, risk management, and person-centred support.

Review and analyse quality data, audits and feedback, identifying trends and supporting services to implement improvement plans.

Promote positive behaviour support approaches and safe clinical practices within services.

Provide coaching, mentoring, and practice guidance to managers and staff to strengthen clinical governance and quality.

Work collaboratively with operational and clinical teams to ensure consistent high standards of care across the region.

Support investigations relating to incidents, safeguarding, or complaints when required.

Contribute to internal reporting on quality, compliance, and improvement activity.

About You

You will be a Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse (RNLD) with strong experience supporting people with complex needs in learning disability services.

You must have previous experience working in a quality assurance, governance, or regulatory compliance role, where you have supported services to meet regulatory standards, conducted audits or quality reviews, and contributed to service improvement.

You will be confident working directly with service teams and supporting managers to strengthen quality, improve practice, and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.

Essential Experience and Skills

Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse (RNLD) with active NMC registration.

Previous experience working in a quality, governance, or regulatory compliance role within health or social care.

Experience conducting service audits, quality reviews, or regulatory compliance monitoring.

Strong understanding of CQC regulations, safeguarding, MCA/DoLS and clinical governance.

Experience supporting services through CQC inspections or regulatory compliance processes.

Significant experience working in learning disability services supporting people with complex needs, autism and behaviours of concern.

Strong knowledge of person-centred care and positive behaviour support.

Experience reviewing incidents, safeguarding concerns, complaints, and implementing improvement actions.

Ability to identify risks, analyse quality information and support services to improve.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Ability to work independently across multiple services.

Willingness to travel across services within the region.

Occasional flexibility is required to support services during inspections or incidents.

A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use.

Desirable

Leadership or management qualification (Level 5 or above)

Experience working across multi-site services.

Knowledge of restrictive practice governance.

Knowledge of NICE guidelines and best practice in complex care.

Lead Auditor or quality qualification.
