About the Role
Put yourself into a dynamic RF Design Authority role at the forefront of real-world demands in the defence industry. Alongside ensuring operational excellence for our existing products, there will be opportunities to develop next-generation radar products to counter emerging threats and contribute to our strategy for new technology. Your day-to-day will be exciting and diverse, applying engineering principles across the entire development lifecycle as you help develop radar systems used by those who serve and protect us.
What You’ll Be Doing
1. Provide technical leadership and guidance on RF engineering matters.
2. Develop, promote, and share new technologies for implementation across businesses and programmes.
3. Engage in integration activities in a complex equipment environment.
4. Generate design documentation and technical reports.
5. Conduct full engineering lifecycle activities, including progress, peer, and design reviews.
6. Ensure designs are compliant with specifications, standards, and regulations.
Your Skills and Experience
Substantial experience in:
* RF technologies, system and circuit architectures.
* Simulating RF systems (using tools like ADS, HFSS, or similar).
* Integration, design proving, and defect resolution.
* Gathering evidence to support acceptance, fitness for purpose, legislative requirements, and safety.
* A degree in Electronic Engineering or a related field (such as electrical engineering or telecommunications).

The Team
This technical role focuses on RF aspects of hardware design, developing solutions for new products and integrating technologies into legacy systems. The role involves creating detailed designs, solving engineering challenges, and managing board-level and unit-level designs.
BAE Systems’ Radar Sector is advancing next-generation radar and sensor systems, supporting projects across the engineering lifecycle for UK and export markets.
