Location: WD18 Contract: Temporary Start: 2 March 2026 End: 18 September 2026 Rate: £14 per hour Hours: 56 per week Rota: 2 weeks on / 1 week off Shift: 11:30 20:00 (30-minute unpaid break) We are recruiting an experienced Seasonal Park Ranger (Operations) to support the delivery of patrol, community safety and site management services across parks and open spaces. This is a physically active, community-facing role requiring confidence, resilience and the ability to respond to a wide range of operational issues. Key Responsibilities Parks Patrol & Community Engagement Patrolling parks, play areas, open spaces, cemeteries and allotments Providing a visible presence and engaging with members of the public Soft enforcement of byelaws Locking and unlocking facilities Hotspot patrols and deterrence of anti-social behaviour Anti-Social Behaviour & Enforcement Support Addressing vandalism, littering, dog fouling and inappropriate behaviour Supporting enforcement activity and working alongside Police and partner agencies Managing issues relating to rough sleeping, youth gatherings and drinking in parks Car parking duties where required Rapid Response & Operational Support Responding to call outs from Police, facilities teams and customer services Carrying out site inspections and basic safety checks Reporting and reacting to vandalism Minor repairs and cleansing tasks Graffiti removal and fly-tip reporting Supporting events and community days Full ranger service functions available on request 2025 - SEASONAL RANGER FUNCTION Requirements Experience in parks, enforcement, community safety, security or similar operational roles Confident dealing with challenging behaviour Strong communication and interpersonal skills Able to work independently and make sound judgements Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather Flexible to work weekends and late finishes as part of a rota This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys outdoor operational work and community engagement within a structured rota pattern.
