The HGV Driver will be working within Hydro International's UK Wastewater Services (UKWWS) team. We support water utility companies working on sewage sites across the United Kingdom.
Requirements:
* Must hold current valid UK driving licence and ideally have no more than 6 penalty points on your licence.
* Able to carry out work some distance from base whichwillrequire overnight stays.
* Able to work outside on sites whichare connected withwastewater (Sewage).
* Capable of working at heights from scaffold platforms,ladders,or mechanical equipment.
* Undertake training and work as part of a confined space team.
* Able to carry out work tasks that involve physical strength, stamina, standing,kneeling,or crouching.
* Must take pride in his vehicle and keep it clean,tidy,and serviceable.
Competence and Qualifications:
* C+E/HGV 1 licence
* LOLER 1998 appreciation and awareness
* Valid drivers CPC and Digi card
* Crane Operators licence
* Confined spaces to City and Guildsisdesirable
* Slinger/crane supervisor
* Mechanical Engineering backgroundis desirable.
Skills & Attributes:
*
o At least 2 years Class 1 driving experience
o Qualified crane operator with experience
o Experience of British Standard Code of Practice for the safe use of cranes BS7121
o Experience of loading flatbed wagons and securing loads
o Basic knowledge of industrial mechanical fitting
o Basic Knowledge of Health & Safetyissues in connection with the construction industry.
o Ability to prioritise workload and work in a systematic and organised manner to ensure work is completed within set timescales.
o Be friendly, professional, reliable with good people skills who enjoys supporting and working as part of ateam.
o Able to communicate effectively to the customers, company management & staff.
o To work as part of a team and to co-operate with other staff / trades.
o Conduct the work activities in a professional manner and promote a positive image of the company
Key Duties:
*
o Weekly driving/operatingcrane and working on sewage treatment sites - therefore the role will entail being away from home Monday to Friday on a regular basis.
o You willbe requiredto take the lead role in all lifting operations and securing loads andbe responsible forthe day-to-day maintenance of the lorry and crane.
o Working week will involve lifting,removing,and installing machinery plus working as part of the Mechanical/electrical engineering team that is likely to involve some manual fitting work.
o Workingoutside in all weathers. PPE clothing will be provided.
o Overnight staysin the cab of the lorry.
o Ifrequired,work on a Saturday morning to undertake a thorough weekly clean and routine maintenance of the lorry and load the lorry for the forthcoming week.
