Occupational Therapist Disability Assessor
Location: Blackburn

Are you a qualified Occupational Therapist seeking a genuine work-life balance and a chance to thrive in a brand new healthcare environment, whilst both utilising and developing your clinical skills?
As a Disability Assessor you will work autonomously to assess the cases of claimants who are applying for the Personal Independence Payment (PIP) benefit, as part of the DWP Health Assessment and Advisory Services (HAAS). You will be completing assessments with individuals who have a broad range of health conditions, with the opportunity to conduct some assessments remotely. An in-depth training programme is provided which is fully paid for, and the role counts towards your clinical hours to uphold your registration.

Responsibilities
* Use your clinical experience to work with people who have a diverse range of health conditions, to understand how their challenges and disabilities affect daily life.
* Conduct detailed, meaningful, and respectful assessments over the telephone, video, or face-to-face, in office or remote settings.
* Interpret medical evidence and compile findings into a comprehensive report to support Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) decision-making.
Requirements
* We can only accept applications from Occupational Therapists for this vacancy.
* HCPC registration is required.
* You must have at least 1 year of broad post-registration experience; UK experience is essential.
* Proactive, keen to learn and receptive to feedback.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Ability to work autonomously and IT competency is essential.
