QTS Tutor – Gateshead – KS3/4

Prospero Teaching is working closely with Gateshead Behavioural Support Services to provide specialist, one-to-one tuition and SEMH support for local students. We are currently recruiting qualified Tutors to deliver English and Maths tuition to students who may need additional support to achieve their potential.
About the Role
We are seeking dedicated female Tutors in the Gateshead area to support students who may be experiencing emotional, social, or behavioural challenges. Many learners may not be fully engaged with mainstream education and benefit from personalised tuition that combines academic support with SEMH strategies.
Tuition is delivered in person, which may take place in:
1. Community venues
2. Alternative provision settings
3. Occasionally, students’ home environments
Position Details
4. Pay rate: Competitive, dependent on qualifications and experience
5. Hours: Up to full-time (exact hours to be confirmed) Start date: April 2026 (ongoing roles available)
6. Location: Gateshead
7. Duration: Ongoing

Your Role With Us
10. Deliver one-to-one or small-group tuition in Maths and English
11. Provide SEMH support alongside academic tuition
12. Plan and deliver personalised lessons to meet individual learning needs
13. Track progress and provide regular, constructive feedback to students and families
14. Create a positive, supportive learning environment to build confidence
15. Complete attendance records and progress reports
To Be Eligible, You Must:
16. Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
17. Have experience supporting students with SEMH needs
18. Have the right to work in the UK
19. Hold an enhanced DBS (child barred list) registered on the update service, or be willing to apply for one
20. Be able to provide references covering the last two years of employment or education
