Behaviour Teaching Assistant
Location: Scarborough
Salary: £88 – £110 per day
Start Date: ASAP / January 2026
Contract: Full-time / Long-term placements available
GSL Education are recruiting a Behaviour Teaching Assistant for a Scarborough specialist setting that supports learners with complex social, emotional and behavioural needs. The role is suited to practitioners who are confident implementing positive behaviour approaches.

Role overview
* Implement and support behaviour programmes and de-escalation techniques in 1:1 and group settings.
* Work with pupils to develop emotional regulation, social understanding and coping strategies.
* Support reintegration into mainstream lessons where appropriate and liaise with pastoral staff.
* Contribute to behaviour plans, incident records and multi-agency meetings.
Requirements
* Experience working with pupils with SEMH or complex behaviour needs.
* Strong knowledge of positive behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
* Calm, consistent and resilient with excellent communication skills.
* Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.
